MP4 with sound, GIF, PNG frames and stills, and contact sheets.
| Command | Writes |
|---|---|
render | MP4: H.264 with AAC sound by default |
gif | an animated GIF, 960 px wide at 15 fps by default (at most 50: browsers play shorter frames slowly), silent |
frames -o dir | frame-00001.png… and audio.wav, for a video editor |
still --at 2.5,save.act,end | PNGs at seconds or markers |
sheet | a contact sheet of the key moments |
All of them use the cached take, and write next to the script unless -o says where.
Useful options#
browser-clip render demo.yaml --preview # half size, 30 fps: quick checks
browser-clip render demo.yaml --range save.act..end # part of the clip
browser-clip render demo.yaml --deterministic # identical files on every run
browser-clip render demo.yaml --camera static --video.fps 30
browser-clip gif demo.yaml --width 720 --fps 12
browser-clip frames demo.yaml -o frames --transparent --scale 0.5
browser-clip still demo.yaml --at end --transparent--<section>.<key> <value>overrides any setting for one command, for example--video.background "#101418";--set path=valuedoes the same.--deterministicencodes software VP9 with a fixed quantizer and renders the sound in a fixed order, so the same script and take give the same bytes.- A transparent backdrop keeps the window's shadow as partial alpha. MP4 and WebM with alpha are out of scope: use PNG frames.
- A large GIF: try
--width 720,--fps 10,camera: staticor a solid background.
